When most people think about New Orleans, there are many images and adjectives that come to mind. Creole food, Jazz parades, New Orleans Saints, old, Mardi Gras, Bourbon Street, drunkenness and revelry, wide-spread violence and crime, generational poverty, crooked local government, floods and natural disaster (Katrina), swamps, and humidity. For the most part, the negatives seems to far out-weight the positives. New Orleans, like many North American cities is broken and spiritual bankrupt.
God loves the city of New Orleans though and we do, too! Eagle’s Landing First Baptist Church is excited to send Reagan and Beth Farris to plant a church in the Crescent City!
Listen to what they have to say:
“When we think about New Orleans, we can’t help but to get excited not about what it is, but what it could be in the hands of our redeeming God! Looking through the lens of the transforming gospel, we dream of a city that, while maintaining its unique culture and diversity, would be full of thousands of people from all walks of life united by the blood of Jesus and on mission to reach the nations for the glory of God! We believe with all our hearts that God can and desires to heal broken people, broken families, broken communities and broken nations. That is why we have uprooted our lives from our home for the past 10 years to plant LifeHouse City Church // New Orleans.”
